How much do we need to retire?

This is a photo of Anna and Adam sitting off in the distance at the top of one of their hikes. The camera was set up on a tripod and we can see them about middle frame. And it has her left arm wrapped around Adam a lake on a fairly cloudy day. On the left and right side, we can see the valley of the Rocky Mountains.

This post scares me the most because we’re about to lay it all out—every number, every detail. We’re documenting exactly how much we need to retire, and it’s not what you might expect.

              Our Journey with Minimalism

This is a photo of Adam and Anna holding a large 55 gallon bag of stuff they are getting rid of. This is one of the few photos that we actually took from us on our minimalist journey because we were kind of embarrassed to document it. Adam is on the left side and Anna is on the rig around their hip height they're holding this gigantic trash leading out to

The words of two people made us realize that we weren’t treating money with the respect and purpose it deserved. Instead, we were squandering it on things we didn’t need. Our journey into minimalism led us down a new path—one where we could retire 20 years earlier than the average person in the U.S.
